CU’s New Website Includes Chatbot Using Artificial Intelligence

FAIRBANKS, Alaska–Spirit of Alaska FCU here has unveiled a new website.

Its most prominent feature is an artificially intelligent chatbot named Aurora, which was developed by Orem, Utah-based BloomCU.

On the homepage, Aurora introduces herself and helps users learn about Spirit of Alaska’s products and services, the credit union said. Spirit of Alaska reported that on the day of launch, Aurora helped a user navigate to the Personal Loans page and ultimately apply for a $20,000 loan.

The new spiritofak.com also includes intuitive and dynamic navigation. By simply hovering over items in the “Menu,” users get brief summaries of products and services. This way, users can determine which products they need without the hassle of visiting multiple pages, the credit union said. 

The website also has a new blog featuring news, educational articles, alerts, member success stories, job opportunities, community events, and more. The blog provides up-to-date information and helps members feel connected to their credit union.

BloomCU said in a statement that communicating brand identity is vitally important, which is it placed Spirit of Alaska’s brand promise “above the fold on the homepage. Visitors of spiritofak.com quickly see Spirit of Alaska’s promise to deliver “award-winning, innovative service for Interior Alaskans.” Then, the brand promise is backed by a member testimonial and the placards of many awards won by Spirit of Alaska for superior service over the years, the credit union said.
