MUMBAI, India—Razer has joined forces with Visa to enable its users to gain access to 54-million merchants on Visa’s network.
The alliance brings Razer Fintech—the fintech unit of Razer— to Visa’s fintech fast-track program. The virtual Visa prepaid solution will now be integrated into Razer Pay e-wallet, Verdict reported noting the move enables users of Razer to pay wherever Visa is accepted.
“We are incredibly excited with the opportunities that this innovative payment solution serves to millions of consumers, connecting them to an extensive network of merchants globally,” said Razer Co-Founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan. “This partnership with Visa significantly extends Razer Fintech’s position as the largest offline-to-online digital payment network in the region.”
Initially, the offering will be available across selected Southeast Asian countries. Plans are on for a global rollout later. With the move, Razer also aims to tap the unbanked and underserved population in Southeast Asia, Verdict said.
