Director, Marketing 

Typical Responsibilities:

The director of marketing at Firefighters First Credit Union (FFCU) is responsible for driving and implementing our brand, product, and data needs to continue positioning FFCU to be the preeminent firefighter credit union nationally. This position oversees four key areas: marketing communications, product research, digital marketing, and creative services, in order to establish a deep understanding of the market, drive product development, and deliver personalized experiences specific to each member’s needs necessary to remain competitive in the market. As a leader, the director sets the objectives, delivers services, and manages for results through his/her team members. The director also ensures that the team is appropriately staffed and employees have the necessary training and resources to successfully perform their work. Overall, the director of marketing is responsible for increasing FFCU’s market share by leading his/her team to achieve critical business objectives. Typical responsibilities: 

Drive the marketing department’s operations and objectives to deliver the strategic vision.
Guide marketing communications to strategically manage the positioning and messaging of products and services. Direct the social and digital platforms and oversee the development of video marketing.
Establish market research to understand market dynamics and membership eligibility across the country.
Establish creative services in-house to deliver messaging specific to local markets.
Position FFCU for continued growth and relevancy by driving product development.
Facilitate FFCU delivering personalized experiences specific to each member’s needs by leveraging marketing technology. Train, coach, supervise, and performance manage marketing department employees.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties and assignments as needed.
Travel up to 10% of the time or as needed to attend events, meetings, conferences, and training.
Work weekends and evenings as needed to attend work-related events. 

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Psychology, Business or a related field. 5 or more years of experience managing employees.
Experience conducting or leading market research.
Experience leveraging technology and data analytics to deliver personalized experiences. 

Experience developing and executing social media branding and marketing campaigns. Experience using digital media formats such as web, television, and video. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous marketing experience in a financial services company.
Experience driving product development.
Experience planning and executing events.
Demonstrates knowledge of and experience with writing and design principles, and journalism principles. Knowledge of and experience with media relations principles and practices. 

Demonstrates the ability to lead and supervise team members to achieve results.
Demonstrates knowledge of business, personal, and insurance products and services.
Demonstrates knowledge of current industry offers, market trends, competitors, and Credit Union lending and member service policies and procedures.
Demonstrates the ability to interpret and apply financial information and perform math functions (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, etc.).
Demonstrates the ability to consult, gather and evaluate needs, provide advice and recommendations, and partner with leaders to achieve organizational objectives.
Demonstrates analytical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and judgment by gathering and applying relevant data to research and resolve issues.
Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and organize work, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast paced, high- volume environment.
Proficient in speaking and writing the English language using correct structure, vocabulary, and organization.
Demonstrates the ability to adjust communication content, style, and presentation to fit a variety of audiences including executives, employees, vendors, members, and external stakeholders.
Demonstrates experience performing basic office functions such as answering phones, copying papers, assembling reports, and sending and receiving correspondence.
Demonstrates the ability to use office software to create written documents (e.g., MS Word and PowerPoint) and prepare spreadsheets (e.g., MS Excel), as well as database applications to enter, maintain, and report data.
