Instructional Designer 

Typical Responsibilities:

The instructional designer at Firefighters First Credit Union (FFCU) is responsible for managing all aspects of the instructional design process, from needs analysis, project scoping and planning, through course deployment and evaluation for multiple design projects. The instructional designer is responsible for analyzing, conceptualizing, designing, developing and implementing highly interactive learning and training solutions. Learning solutions may include e-learning, mobile, instructor-led training, virtual, social, and blended solutions targeting learning objectives and improving performance. Further, the instructional designer will pilot new or revised training programs, manage train-the-trainer roll-outs, facilitate training sessions as needed, and assess training effectiveness to ensure delivery of intended business results. Typical responsibilities:

Identify organizational learning and development needs, design and implement corresponding solutions, and evaluate effectiveness.
Standardize learning and development tools, resources, and methodologies; train others on the use and application of learning and development tools, resources, and methodologies. 

Manage portfolio of training and development programs.
Manage annual compliance training requirements and administration.
Deliver train-the-trainer on new content to prepare facilitators; facilitate training sessions as needed.
Maintain the Learning Management System and perform testing on system upgrades as needed to ensure functionality and accuracy prior to implementation.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties and assignments as needed.
Travel required to facilitate training, or attend meetings, conferences, and other work-related activities. 

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience identifying department or group-level employee development needs.
A minimum of five years’ experience designing, implementing, and evaluating employee development solutions. Experience facilitating training sessions.
Experience maintaining a Learning Management System.
Experience working with web development tools, authoring tools, e-learning technologies, and Adobe Photoshop. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Human Resources, Psychology, Business or a related field; Master’s degree in Training and Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field strongly preferred.
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certified in change management methodologies and tools. 

Experience managing projects and initiatives using standard project management tools and techniques to achieve results. Experience designing, creating, delivering, and evaluating corporate training programs for a minimum of 5 years. Experience purchasing learning solutions and managing vendors.
Experience using animation design tools. 

Demonstrates the ability to interpret and apply financial information required to manage a budget.
Demonstrates the ability to consult, gather and evaluate needs, provide advice and recommendations, and partner with stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
Demonstrates analytical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and judgment by gathering and applying relevant data to research and resolve issues.
Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and organize work, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast paced, high- volume environment.
Proficient in speaking and writing the English language using correct structure, vocabulary, and organization.
Demonstrates the ability to adjust communication content, style, and presentation to fit a variety of audiences including executives, employees, vendors, and members.
Demonstrates experience performing basic office functions such as answering phones, copying papers, assembling reports, and sending and receiving correspondence.
Demonstrates the ability to use office software to create written documents (e.g., MS Word and PowerPoint), and prepare spreadsheets (e.g., MS Excel), as well as use database applications (e.g., Learning Management System) to enter, maintain, and report data. Ability to test new and upgraded software.
