TAMPA, Fl. --– GTE Financial Credit Union has been named a winner of the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2014 Corporate Philanthropy Awards in the 100 – 500 employee category. The awards spotlight the corporate giving and volunteer programs that stood out in the greater Tampa Bay area during 2013.

GTE donated and matched contributions of more than $320,000 in 2013, including in-kind donations such as clothing, food, toys and project materials for renovations. These benefitted non-profit charitable organizations such as AIDS Walk Tampa Bay, Junior Achievement of Tampa, Nick Capitano Boys & Girls Club of Tampa, the United Way Suncoast Chapter and Wheels of Success. In addition, GTE employees volunteered 2,100 hours in the community.
