STUDIO CITY, Calif.–The wife of the CEO who allegedly embezzled $40 million from a credit union is an actress and singer with a number of slickly produced videos and small movie roles to her credit.
Police reports identify the wife of Edward Rostohar, 62, the former CEO of C B S Employees FCU who allegedly stole more than $40 million from the $21-million credit union, as Linda Tlenlsani. It was Tlenlsani who police say dialed 911 alleging her husband had stolen money from work and was leaving the country, as CUToday.info reported here.
But Tlenlsani also performs under the name Linda Bella, prosecutors have confirmed to CUToday.info. Bella, 27, has a YouTube Channel on which seven different music videos are available (for four different songs), as is a three-minute acting reel. The channel shows more than 2,400 subscribers.
Born in France, Role in Tropic Thunder
According to Bella’s IMDb listing, she was born in France and has 19 movie credits, the best known of which is 2008’s Tropic Thunder, in which she has an uncredited role as the date of Jon Voight.
Other film credits include Fury of the Fist and the Golden Fleece, the plot of which is synopsized as “The biggest porn star of the 1970s must reclaim his mojo in the '80s by saving all male kind, fighting his way to the heart of a conspiracy to sell meat pumped full of estrogen to emasculate men.” That film starred Danny Trejo, who has appeared in numerous films.
Tlenlsani /Bella has also appeared in The Letter Red, Devil’s Domain, Ratpocalypse, Dracula: Reborn and other small roles. The IMDb listing also says Tlenlsani/Bella has dual U.S/French citizenship, grew up in France before moving to the U.S. in her teens, and that she is fluent in English, French, German and Italian.
Tlenlsani has not been implicated or charged in the embezzlement from the credit union. At the time of Rostohar’s arrest, a police report quoted Tlenlsani as describing her husband as the “most honest person I know.” It is also not known if any of the allegedly embezzled funds went toward producing the music videos or acting reel.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Rostohar said he had been providing his wife with a $5,000 per week allowance.
Featured for Yard Makeover
While the Rostohars have kept a low profile aside from the performances under the name Linda Bella, they did appear in a 2012 Patch.com story for landscaping work done on their property in Studio City, Calif. Identified in the story as Ed and Linda Rostohar, they were featured for having planted a 35-year-old, 50-foot-high Canary Island Palm as well as two additional Phoenix Dactylifera palms on the same property at which Rostohar was arrested.
“Linda wanted tropical,” the landscape designer said. “She’s French. When people come here from somewhere else, they’ve gotta have some palm trees. It’s what defines California for them.”
In the Patch.com story, the landscape artist agreed that not everyone can afford a 50-foot Canary Island palm.
The redesign also included a backyard barbeque counter finished with recycled, crushed-then-polished glass set in tinted concrete and underlit for drama; arbors for shade; large self-watering planters on the front pilasters filled with trailing annual scaevola (fanflower) and ivy geranium; and various flower beds with a "tropical" look, according to the report.
